For 2026, an Alberta resident with $100,000 of taxable income would have an estimated $6,954 in provincial tax and $14,393 in federal tax. The estimated total income tax is $21,347, leaving $78,653 after income tax.
This example excludes CPP contributions, EI premiums and other deductions or credits.
Alberta provincial income tax rates 2026
For 2026, Alberta’s personal income tax brackets and provincial basic personal amount were indexed by 2%. The provincial basic personal amount is $22,769. Income above each threshold is taxed progressively at the applicable rate.

What income should I enter?
Enter your taxable income—the amount remaining after applicable deductions. It is generally reported on line 26000 of a Canadian income tax return.
Does the calculator include CPP and EI?
No. It estimates federal and Alberta income tax only. CPP contributions, EI premiums and other payroll deductions are not included.
Is all my income taxed at the same rate?
No. Canada and Alberta use progressive tax brackets. Only the portion of income within each bracket is taxed at that bracket’s rate.
Can I calculate Alberta income tax for earlier years?
